The Infamous 25

This is going around facebook and I think I've been "mentioned" in about 11 peoples notes and have yet to play the game. So here goes:

1. I have 3 tattoos. One of them I hate. One of them I like. And one of them I love.

2. I can't cook even though I enjoy cooking.
I can make a good stir fry and kick ass banana bread. That's it.

3. My favourite scent is currently Japanese Cherry Blossom from B&BW. I never would have picked it based on the name. But I used it at my friend Tara's house a few months ago and have been hooked ever since. Handsoap, body lotion, hand lotion...obsessed.

4. I drive a '08 Town & Country and I love LOVE love it. It has everything I could ever want in a vehicle. And we can only afford it with my Dads employee discount.

5. I watch ALOT of tv. So much so that we often have very minimal space left on our dvr. I love The Biggest Loser and The Bachelor because they are on for 2hrs and it's so satisfying to have one show on for that long in one sitting.

6. I eat at least 1 chocolate bar a day. I love Fry's Cream bars. Usually it's an aero dark, or kitkat chunky. Lately I'm lovin the new "coffee crisp chocolate crunch"!

7. I drink a large double double every morning. And sometimes a large in the afternoon. If not another large then definately a medium or small.

8. I have horrible eyebrows. I can't stand them. I wish they were pretty and nicely shaped. But I am too much of a wuss to let them grow bushy and get a fresh start with a professional wax/shaping.

9. I always wanted a blue eyed baby. Took me 3 to get one!

10. I can only drink water out of a clear bottle. The ones that they will be banning soon. I drink many every day and prior to taking the cap off, I give it a shake to make sure there are no "floaters" in it. Cam sometimes sips from my bottle...and backwashes. If there are, I dump it and crack a new one.

11. I hate milk. It grosses me out that it comes from a cows udder and I have not been able to drink it since I was about 7 and I heard my oldest sister (who was about 14) say that milk was "phlegmy"

12. I pronounce schedule "sked-ual", not shed-dual. I pronounce route "root", not rouwt. I pronounce diabetes "diabeetees", not diabeetis. I pronounce Aunt "ant", not ont. I pronounce envelope "en-velope", not onvelope.

13. I subscribe to People magazine and I purchase Us Weekly every week.

14. I smoked heavily before I had kids and I LOVED it. Every cigarette I had I loved. When I see people smoking I miss it. Especially when they exhale.

15. I could eat Dragon Maki every single night for dinner. I really could.

16. I have a cardiac arrhythmia. Apparently it's "ok" and stress related. Go figure.

17. I love lip gloss. I usually have at least 4 different ones in my pocket or purse. My favourites are Mac Viva Glam and Victoria Secrets Beauty Rush Juiced Berry.

18. I love folding laundry that is fresh out of the dryer. I love the warmth and smell of it. I have 2 very specific combinations of detergent/fabric softener that I use. One of them smells like my nana's laundry and reminds me of her. I miss her.

19. I look good in hats. Almost any hat I put on suits me. And I should buy more.

20. I met Sean at a local bar and was drunk for probably the first month that I knew him. He worked there and would buy me drinks. I refused to give him my phone number for a few weeks. But he was persistent. I'm glad he was!
(boy could I pound them back in those days!)

22. I hate shaving my legs in the winter. I very rarely do it. It's too cold with the bare legs and lotion and all...I don't bother.

23. I got my drivers license when I turned 16. I can't drive standard and I can't drive on the highway. I will only go on the 401 from Trafalgar to Mavis to get to Sean's office.

24. Nobody has ever been able to do my nails as good as I can do my own.

25. Every Sunday morning I wash our bedding and have a shower before I get into bed that night. I can't get into clean sheets unless I have showered. I make Sean shower as well.

Fuck

I have a bad case of the swears.
A potty-mouth.
I swear.
Alot.
Sometimes too much.
I have tried to challenge myself to not swear for an entire day and I just can't do it.

I love this clip and I feel like it totally fuckin justifies everytime I curse.

A bit of a confession...

I'm not very green.
I leave lights on all the time. It really pisses Sean off.
I put the dishwasher on a rinse cycle before I run it.
I had the furnace too high (according to Sean). I'm not sure what I kept the temp at. I just know it was always warm. Now it's kinda warm and sometimes cool.
I fall asleep with the tv on and it's on all night. It's a habit I got into when Eva was a newborn and nursing throughout the night. She's been sleeping through the night for about a year now.

But yesterday I did something that I should have done a few years ago.
I bought green bins for my groceries.
Two of them. And in those 2 bins I was able to fit 100 dollars worth of groceries.

Had I been using these bins I could have had an entire kitchen cupboard free to use.

Instead I have been using approximately 8-10 plastic grocery bags everytime I do goceries. I didn't even re-use the damn bags. Just got new ones each time...
I feel so bad about that. What a waste.
But as I walked out of the store with my bins and 100 bucks worth of gorceries (most of which is for the boys litterless-lunches at school!), I was proud of myself for doing something. It's a start.
And - I have been turning off all the lights.
And - I have been using the sleep timer.
Gettin there!

Have I mentioned how much I love having a little girl??

You've come a long way baby!

Two years ago today our life got a little bit better.
The world got a little bit brighter with the arrival of beautiful Eva.
For her first birthday, we celebrated making it through the year. What a year it was.
This year, we celebrate Eva. Just her and her wonderfulness.

Giving birth to each of my babies empowered me. I never felt stronger or more primal then when I was pregnant, giving birth or breastfeeding. I marvelled at what my body could do.
But making it through Cuylers first 3 years and then making it through Eva's first year proved to me that my body has nothing to do with being a Mom.
I am proud of my spirit and my soul getting through what we have gotten through. Many families have much more difficult and heartbreaking ordeals. But we took a pretty good hit between Cuylers autism and Eva's hemangioma complications.
And we made it.

And we'll celebrate all of that in May. But today we celebrate our beautiful BabyGirl. What a gift she is to us.

Doing what I want

Two things that I would like to do this year is lose between 6-8 pounds (to get me back to pre-motherhood weight) and to do more writing.
I love writing. I used to write all the time. Actually write. With a pen. On paper. And I was good at it.
When I started this blog I wrote all the time and had a bunch of people who read it regularly. It was therapeutic and I needed an outlet for all the shit that I was going through as I began my journey into autism.
I think everything changed when I had Eva. There was just no time to sit and write. When she got sick I wanted an escape so I got into the habit of surfing celebrity gossip websites. I love them. I still check them throughout the day. It's fast, easy and I don't have to commit to anything. I can judge the celebrities, without being judged for being too judgmental.
I can find new trends that I try to mimic (sideswept bangs and shimmery eyes) or make sure I don't fall into (Uggs).
Roll my eyes at awful baby names (Dolly? Bronx?)
Or find 5 must-do excersises to get glutes like Jennifer Aniston.

Fun, frivolous stuff that has nothing to do with the challenges that face me everyday as a mom. So I think perhaps that is why I have neglected my poor blog. She meant so much to me and was there for me when I needed her most and here I have gone and turned my back on her. For celeb gossip...
Sooo...my goal is to spend more time with her. I miss her.
And I would like to try and write less about autism and more about whatever.
I have done posts where I have no idea what I will write about when I open the laptop and then stuff just flows. There's never NOTHING to say. Nothing to write about. There's always something.
And I want to. I really want to do what I have done since I was a little girl. Just write. About whatever.

And I will post pics of my beauties. Cuz they are beauties.
