Time for an update!
Cuyler has strep throat. Poor guy. He has been giving us nothing but trouble as far as his antibiotics. He's had 10ml of meds in 3 days and we've used up close to 30. So he's had 2 doses and we've gone through (wasted) about 6 doses. If he's had as many doses as he should have by now, he'd be better. But his tonsils still look like 2 rotten cherries touching each other.
We've also come to the realization that he NEEDS to be seen by a dentist and he'll more than likely need to be sedated to have his teeth checked and fixed. I'm sure his molars are a mess - between his grinding and his previous aversion to brushing, they've suffered.
I just hope that once his mouth is cleaned up and taken care of that it helps his development.

On to Miss Eva. I haven't posted about her issues yet.
We are taking her to Sick Kids (Hospital for Sick Children) in Toronto tomorrow. She needs to see a pediatric dermatologist for a hemangioma.
She was born with a birthmark on her neck. No big deal:


By 4weeks old it had changed dramatically:


And this was a week (or 2?) ago:


She will need to go for an MRI. They want to see how deep it is. There is a chance that it could interfere with her trachea thus interfere with her breathing and feeding, but she's 13lbs at 8 weeks - I hardly think it's affecting her feeding!
My concern at the moment is the fact that she will need to be sedated for the MRI. I go into neurotic-Mommy-mode...what if she reacts to the sedation? what if she doesn't wake up from it?
But then I remind myself that we will be at Sick Kids. The VERY best place she could be. And only the best for my girl!
The first dermatologist who saw her said "She too beautiful. Nobody will even notice it." She was right about the first part - she's GORGEOUS! But, I swear, everybody who see's her asks about it. I worry about when she's older and how it will affect her socially. But we'll make sure she's got enough confidence to deal with it.
Let's forget about the ugly mark and focus on the beautiful girl!

And there is no news to report for Cam. These days - no news is good news! He's been at a hockey camp this week for March Break. He is, as usual, the youngest in his group. But he's enjoying it. And more importantly it's keeping him busy and out of the house while I deal with his sick brother.

Man it's tough to type with one hand (and a broken spacebar).
I've gotten super lazy about blogging. I go online while I nurse because it's easy to surf from site to site.
Things are still good. Eva is getting fun now. She'll smile when we talk to her.

And she REALLY smiles and laughs when I sing to her. She's taken a real liking to Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely"
I SO love singing this to her, and the boys have started singing it to her as well! The lyrics are so appropriate for my girl (I suppose they would be for all little girls, since it was written for SW's daughter when she was born)

Cuyler is still pretty smitten with her although he drives me crazy when he "mauls" her. He doesn't realize he puts so much weight on her when he hugs her. And when she's in her swing, he wants to either "push her higher!" or stop it and wake her up. Very frustrating.
But then we get moments like this one that make up for it.
