Don't let the swim trunks fool you
It was friggin cold today.
Last Thursday was Cam's birthday. Yesterday Sean's sister came for Easter dinner gave Cam a slip 'n slide.
And all day today Cuyler asked to go swimming on it.
By about 3:30pm he had gone so far as to put his bathing suit on. He asked for sunscreen also.
By about 4pm he was trying to gnaw through the box.
By about 4:30pm I had had enough. I'm a believer in natural consequences and thought "Fuck it. Go. I don't care that it's 4C outside. Maybe you'll figure out what I've been telling you ALL day. That it is too cold for water outside."
So I set it up and out he went.
Initially he realized that going barefoot was too cold.
Then he found that the bitter cold water still got into the sandals.
**Please note the jacket that the little sister on the stairs is wearing. It was not even nearly warm out**
Then he put on his (more appropriate for this weather) boots.
After about a minute and a half he realized he was still cold.
He was now able to fully enjoy the fun of a slip 'n slide on a chilly April afternoon.
Eva and I did not stay out and decided that he could enjoy the frigid water fun by himself. The entire time Cam was out front in pants, a tshirt and hoody playing roller hockey by himself.
Cuyler did invite him to play in the water, but he declined.
Go figure.
