It's been a long time and I'm not sure anyone is going to read this as I've not updated in a very long time.
But we've spent the summer in hell and there just wasn't time to sit and reflect. Rather I'd like to forget.

The condensed version is as follows:
Eva's hemangioma ulcerated in April. In June it bled.
In July it bled ALOT. The first time we took her to emerg. That was very early on a Wednesday morning. They sent us home and the next day (Thursday) we went to Sick Kids in Toronto for a follow up.
Late that Thursday night it bled again. We took her back to emerg. Her hemoglobin was dangerously low (67 - normal is 110). So low in fact she was rushed from our local hospital downtown to Sick Kids via ambulance for a blood transfusion. Lights and sirens, the whole bit. I've never been more terrified in my life.
She ended up being admitted for 5 days on IV antibiotics for 3 infections in her ulcer.
She had her first round of laser surgery on August 7 and her second round this past Monday. We're hoping this does the trick and she won't need anymore because she is put out under a general anesthetic and that scares the shit out of me.
She has also cut 4 more teeth this week, bringing her total to 6.
She is an old pro at sitting on her own and she's just about ready to crawl! Yikes!
She has decided that sleeping is way over rated so she doesn't do very much of it.
Eating solids is too much work, so she doesn't bother. She gets 1 bottle of formula before bedtime because by then I am sick of her hanging off of me all day.
When the boys were her age they were eating 3 meals and nursing in between. I can't get her interested in solids and it's starting to frustrate me.

Cuyler will go to preschool for the last time next Thursday. His first day of kindergarten is Sept 14th. I am so sad that he's leaving these girls who totally love him and the whole staff that has been so great to out family. But it's time. He'd ready. I think...

Cam starts grade 1 next Tuesday and I couldn't be more excited. Part of me will really miss our time together that we had when Cuy was in school, but he's ready for a bigger challenge than kingdergarten.

I'll leave this update with a vid clip of Cuyler and Eva showing off her most recently aquired skill:

So glad for an update, although sorry to hear it's been a rough summer.

Eva is so gorgeous though!

p.s.-Hannah wouldn't take solids either, and it turned out she didn't like the consistency of baby food. She actually wanted chunky stuff. Once I put her on real food it was all good. Hopefully you figure out what Eva likes soon too!

Wow, you have had quite an eventful summer! Hopefully they'll be able to help Eva so she doesn't have to go through this anymore.

I just realized...I never, not even once, looked at her hemangioma while I was watching the video. She is a beautiful child and I love the look on her face when she looks at her big brother. Precious.

And Cuyler! Well, I'd never suspect anything after watching that.

Hang in there.
